Field trip HDB Recycling GmbH
On 13 June, Verbund.NRW visited HDB Recycling GmbH in Hünxe to look at the new HDB R-Gestein processing plant. The innovative plant for building rubble and soil processing is designed to completely process difficult mineral waste that is particularly rich in impurities and prepare it for reuse. The aim is to substitute primary raw materials with recycled aggregates of the highest quality, which can be reused to produce resource-saving concrete.
There was an interesting exchange about the substitution of primary raw materials by high-quality secondary raw materials: about the input materials and products of different cycles in civil engineering, road construction and track construction, about opportunities, regulations, and requirements. Afterwards, we were able to visit the entire plant with its individual processing steps and products.
