This year, the TEER's annual excursion led to Central and Eastern Germany. From June 11th to 14th, the group of twelve students from different study courses accompanied by six employees of the institute visited different facilities in the field of thermal waste treatment, energy from biomass and metal recycling. The participants were given in-depth insights into the practice of industrial recycling at the REMONDIS Lippe Plant and the direct liquefaction of substitute fuels into fuel at DIESELWEST. During the visit to Solvay Chemicals, the production of sodium carbonate as well as the connected substitute fuel power plant from PreZero Energy were visited . The participants also gained an insight into the (research) activities of the German Biomass Research Centre (DBFZ), the vacuum destillation of Cronimet Envirotec and Glatt GmbH in the field of sewage sludge recycling.

We would like to thank all supporters and employees of the respective plants who made these interesting visits possible.
