The minimization of emissions is relevant for all thermal processes and is therefore an important and integral part of the research at the Unit of Technology of Fuels. Among other things, we work on the devolopment of fine particle filters for fine dust from small firing plants and the desulphurization of flue gases from industrial processes. Our approaches are tested both in test- as well as large-scale applications.
Furthermore, theoretical and experimental studies on flue gas treatment are carried out at TEER. For example, this includes the investigation of the deposition rate of current apparatuses and methods against novel components, such as nanoparticles or carbon fibers. In empirical studies process paths and methods are analyzed for their technical suitability and their economic viability on the basis of process data.
