On the 9th of November, TEER presented an exhibit for the separation of particles from small biomass furnaces at the RWTH Science Night. To illustrate the effect of the electrostatic separator, particles were simulated with a fog machine. The corona with its blue luminous appearance (generation of free electrons) could be made visible with a camera, and it forms the prerequisite for particle separation. On a poster, the particulate matter problem was explained in more detail and the hazard potential as well as technical solutions were described. The interested visitors could discuss with scientific assistants at the booth and learn more about current research topics in this area.
